Activity Description
These activities consists of a recorded presentation from the "Medical Director and Clinician Leadership Forum 2024" held September 23-24, 2024 in Las Vegas, NV.
The Forum was designed for medical directors and other clinical executives/leaders working in the managed health care industry. During this two-day, live conference experts shared their insights into topics that are critical to the management of large patient populations. This year’s Forum focused on innovations and evidence-based research related to optimizing patient care, outcomes and benefit management.
Learning Objectives
At the end of these educational activities, participants should be able to:
- Identify current pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic management strategies for heart failure, including early detection, reversible causes, and hospital readmission prevention.
- Evaluate the role and impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies in primary care and population health, emphasizing predictive analytics, disease management and care coordination.
- Review effective strategies for providing palliative care to patients with chronic conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and congestive heart failure (CHF), emphasizing patient-centered communication and end-of-life care preferences.
- Discuss integrated care models and evidence-based treatment strategies for managing both mental and physical health in individuals with serious mental illness.
- State the methodology for accurate COPD diagnosis and evaluate the effectiveness of novel therapies in reducing inflammation and exacerbations as highlighted in the 2024 GOLD report.
