Activity description
This activity consists of a recorded presentation from the "33rd Annual National Conference" held October 14-16, 2024, in Bloomington, Minn. It is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, psychologists, physicians, PAs and social workers.
This activity will address the latest breakthroughs in obesity management, with a focus on glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) agonists and their role in combating obesity and associated diseases such as diabetes. It will cover these agonists’ mechanisms of action, their benefits in weight reduction and cardiovascular risk mitigation. Strategies for integrating these medications into treatment protocols and criteria for patient selection will also be discussed, as well as the challenges related to accessibility and insurance coverage for these therapies.
