Target Audience
These activities are designed to meet the educational needs of case managers, dietitians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians and other health care professionals (HCPs) who are interested in the care and management of solid organ and blood/marrow transplantation patient populations.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify existing disparities in the field of transplantation and recognize the value of current programs and initiatives to improve equity and increase access to care.
- Recognize the impact of the opioid epidemic and fentanyl-associated deaths on the donor organ supply, solid organ waiting lists, transplant candidacy, and posttransplant outcomes.
- Define the current and potential utilization of nanotechnology in transplant medicine as targeted immunosuppressive drug delivery systems.
- Identify clinical management strategies surrounding intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation.
