Medicine in the Age of CRISPR: The Gene-Edited Patient
Activity description
This activity consists of recorded presentations from the "30th Annual National Conference" held virtually Sept. 29–30, 2021.
Gene therapy applications are vast and rapidly expanding, allowing for the treatment of gene alterations due to genetic diseases, HIV, coronary artery disease, and cancer. Gene editing with CRISPR/Cas9 is a straightforward method of site-specific gene editing with apparent advantages over traditional gene therapy. Learn how gene therapy is currently being used to combat disease and gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of action behind gene therapy and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.
