Activity description
This podcast is part of a four-part series. In this month’s podcast, participants will hear experts discuss key aspects of diagnosis and treatment for many conditions HCPs may encounter in the UMC facility, including but not limited to such conditions as eye emergencies, reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome, community-acquired pneumonia, hidradenitis suppurativa and COVID-19. Pediatric topics are highlighted this month, with a challenging pediatric patient case presentation, conversations surrounding updates on the risks of antibiotic exposure during the first years of life, and advice on urine specimen collection in infants and neonates. Procedural topics will include laceration repair, abscess incision and drainage, and assessment for droperidol-administration-associated cardiac effects.

Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians and PAs that have an interest in learning about diagnosis and treatment options for UMC.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss diagnoses that may be treated at an UMC facility.
- State the appropriate assessment and treatment options for UMC conditions.
- Review and examine recent clinical updates and guidelines for the optimal care of individuals receiving UMC.
