Virtual Case Study: Current versus History of Cancer
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Documenting and coding active cancer versus a history of cancer in a patient’s medical record can be difficult and at times confusing. Medical treatment and patient presentations often dictate the appropriate cancer codes to document in the medical record. This activity reviews two patient presentations that will assist health care professionals (HCPs) in making appropriate documentation choices in reference to active cancer and a history of cancer diagnosis.
