Target Audience
Content has been developed by and for the health care team to promote collaborative practice in health care delivery by providing a broad range of topics for a variety of learners. The conference is designed for health care professionals who are interested in learning best practices for optimal patient/benefit management in the areas of organ and blood/marrow transplantation, health and wellness, comorbid diseases, complex medical condition support, case management, and utilization management.
Learning Objectives
Health care professionals need to have the competency, skills, and ability to apply new information learned as they care for individual patients and their families, as well as for themselves. As a result of attending this conference, learners should be able to:
- Discuss the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) in health care and its capacity to improve interprofessional communication, address disparities in care, and improve patient health outcomes.
- Describe updated evidence-based guidelines for Type 2 diabetes and how best practices and health-care-team collaboration influence prevention, risk reduction, and long-term sequelae.
- Provide an update on currently approved and emerging gene therapies and immunotherapies, including CRISPR/Cas9 and CAR T-cell therapy.
- Examine the role of multicancer-early-detection (MCED) screening in accelerating cancer diagnoses and improving outcomes.
- Describe the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic and the opioid epidemic, their current and expected impacts on the field of transplantation, and the importance of a holistic team approach to improve outcomes.
- Examine how to improve current disparities in health care associated with social determinants of health (SDOH) through interprofessional collaboration strategies, with a focus on disparities in cancer care for various racial and ethnic populations.
- Identify current and emerging treatments and updated management strategies for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and lupus-related inflammatory conditions.
- Provide an update on COVID-19 and its long-term implications for immunosuppressed patients; examine lung transplantation as a surgical solution for COVID-19-related irreversible lung injury.

The certificate will give the total CMEs possible for the offering. Physicians are advised to claim only the actual hours that they were present during the education. Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (One IPCE credit=One CPEU).
If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (One 60 minute hour=1 CPEU).
RD's and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Performance indicator selection is at the learner's discretion.
Managed Care Nurses
