Unveiling the Influence of Environmental Stressors on the Brain-Gut Connection: Probiotics, Prebiotics, Diet and Health

Activity description

This activity consists of a recorded presentation from the "33rd Annual National Conference" held October 14-16, 2024, in Bloomington, Minn. It is designed to meet the educational needs of counselors, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, psychologists, physicians, PAs, social workers and therapists.

This activity will delve into the realm of the gut-brain axis and outline the crucial role of gut microbiota in mental and neurologic health, including their influence on mood, cognition and overall mental well-being. Participants will explore the mechanisms of gut-brain communication, the impact of probiotics and prebiotics on mental health, and their potential to prevent and treat mental disorders and cognitive decline. Insights into practical approaches for incorporating gut microbiota modulation into treatment plans will be discussed.
