COVID-19 and Pregnancy

Activity description

The risk of pregnancy-related complications such as preterm delivery, loss of pregnancy, and stillbirth is much higher in women with COVID-19 infection during pregnancy than in their pregnant counterparts without COVID-19. This activity will discuss the risk factors for severe disease in pregnant women, with a focus on the multifaceted effects of COVID-19 infection on pregnancy and the developing infant.  It will also provide current information about the effects of the COVID-19 vaccine on maternal and neonatal health. COVID-19 infection- and vaccine-related recommendations for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and neonatal health, as well as indications for hospitalization of the pregnant patient will be identified.
