Skilled Nursing Facilities Series: Vaccine Awareness
Activity description
Long-term care and communal living present a significant risk for the spread of respiratory illnesses. In long-term care, individuals are particularly vulnerable. Vaccines have been proven to dramatically reduce the risk of transmission of respiratory illnesses, while reducing morbidity, mortality and long-term complications, yet vaccine uptake in long-term care remains relatively low in both residents and staff. An increased awareness of obstacles to vaccination along with the use of effective tools to promote vaccine confidence can help improve vaccination rates and outcomes associated with respiratory illnesses. This on-demand webcast is designed to raise awareness of risks of respiratory illnesses, demonstrate the value of vaccination, provide tools to overcome vaccination hesitancy and promote increased vaccine confidence.
