Common GI symptoms may be misinterpreted and their impact and significance misunderstood both by health care professionals and patients. This activity will provide insight to understanding common GI conditions — such as Crohn’s Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC), — and how these symptoms should be appropriately and effectively managed.

  • Explore clinical features, risk factors, screening, prevention, evaluation, and treatment of common GI conditions.
  • Recognize the potential impact of physical and behavioral health on GI conditions.
  • Discuss the pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments for managing GI conditions.
  • Discuss the importance of a multidisciplinary approach when managing individuals with GI conditions.
